CBSE Class 12 Exams 2018: Business studies paper analysis

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams started on March 5 across the country and Business Studies exam was conducted today.

The exam started at 10:30 am and finished at 1:30 pm.

According to the reports, students from a New Delhi school were able to finish their exam on time.
While speaking with India Today Education, a student from a New Delhi school said, ”Earlier students were told to find the exact topic to prepare but this year, we were asked to prepare the concepts.”

“I found the exam tad difficult when compared to last year’s paper,” the student added.

EXAM BASED ON THE CONCEPTS:

According to a student from New Delhi school, the exam was concept based.

VARIED REACTIONS TO THE QUESTIONS:

While some students thought the exam had direct questions this year, others felt that there were less direct questions.

CASE STUDIES TRICKY IN THE EXAM:

Most of the students found the case studies to be specifically tricky including one mark questions.

MIXED RESPONSE TO THE EXAM PAPER LENGTH:

The response for the length of the exam paper was found to be varied, this year.

PAPER PATTERN OF THE EXAM:

  • Part A: Principles and Functions of Management (60 marks)
  • Part B: Business Finance and Marketing (40 marks)

NO OVERALL CHOICE IN THE EXAM:

There was no overall choice. However, there were internal choices in every 6-marks question.
