Even if your hipster mate doesn’t have a beard at the moment, he is a hipster and he almost certainly harbour’s aspirations of growing one. He might also appreciate the irony of beard products for his still be grown beard.

The reality is that alcohol is such a varied and personal thing that with a little bit of effort and some research but into the present you can really come up with something unique. Gin that is infused with something that your person really likes, or a craft beer from a foreign country that does things in a unique or different way. Whichever route you go, it is a much more exciting angle than a bottle of wine.
Plant a tree
The world is struggling with deforestation and the threat of global warming. One of the best ways to help alleviate the crisis is through the planting of trees. So, if you are looking for ways to spend money and it seems like the people that you are buying for have everything that they need, then look to buy a tree in their name. There are plenty of organizations that specialise in reforestation and planting and they are always looking for support. You could do a lot worse that gift them money for planting and say that it is done in lieu of a more traditional gift.
