TP-Link launches Deco M9 Plus WiFi router

TP-Link, a manufacturer of consumer and business networking products, has launched Deco M9 Plus, smart home mesh Wi-Fi system.

This is TP-Link’s first mesh Wi-Fi system with smart hub functionality, aimed at providing fast wireless connectivity.

According to the vendor, the Deco M9 Plus is available in retail outlets from July 2018.

The new offering is the simplest way to guarantee a strong Wi-Fi signal in every corner of homes up to 6500 square feet with three Deco units.

Users can enjoy fast, secure Wi-Fi for over 100 connected devices, and take control of all their smart home devices with Deco M9 Plus, with no need to buy an additional hub.

The networking vendor said unlike traditional Wi-Fi routers, each Deco M9 Plus unit has a built-in smart hub, bringing all your smart home devices onto one platform. The Deco M9 Plus router is compatible with smart bulbs, lights, switches, locks, sensors, plugs, cameras and more, including TP-Link’s own range and other leading smart home brands.

The Deco M9 Plus device utilises a single 5GHz band as wireless backhaul when traffic is light, but can count on the other 5GHz band and the 2.4GHz band for backhaul when traffic gets heavy, delivering speeds of over 1000Mbps, ideal for users with gigabit fiber connections.

Key features of the Deco M9 including maximised Wi-Fi coverage range of up to 6500 square feet, superior AC2200 tri-band speeds with 2.4GHz and 5GHz, connects to and controls all your smart home devices using its Smart Hub and is compatible with TP-Link smart devices, Amazon Alexa, IFTTT and other leading brands.

In addition, the devices supports more than 100 device connections, uses all three Wi-Fi bands as backhaul when traffic gets heavy, delivering speeds of over 1000Mbps, TP-Link HomeCare Parental Controls, QoS and Built-in Antivirus software and easy setup and management.

Powered by the Qualcomm Quad-core CPU, the Deco M9 can expand Wi-Fi coverage to match  a home’s scale and supports IPv6, the latest internet protocol.
