Wenger on worst away losing run of Arsenal career
For the first time since Arsene Wenger became the club’s manager 21 years ago, the Gunners have lost four consecutive away league matches
Arsenal were already having a rough season away from the Emirates Stadium, but Arsene Wenger’s side hit rock bottom on Monday night against Crystal Palace.
REPORT: Palace thrash abject Arsenal
The Gunners were handed a 3-0 defeat at Selhurst Park, marking their fourth straight away loss in the Premier League to slip further behind in the race for a top-four finish
The four-match away losing streak is the worst for Arsenal since Wenger became the club’s manager back in 1996.
The last time the north London outfit lost four league away matches in a row came in 1995 under the management of Stewart Houston.
Arsenal have also conceded three in each of those four defeats – something which had not happened since 1929.
Andros Townsend opened the scoring for Crystal Palace in the 17th minute, with Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic putting the match away in the second half.
