Home Deco
This is your interior design style based on your star sign
Minimalist, maximalist, Scandi, bohemian, and everything in between. What’s your interior style? Well, according to your star sign, it might be one (or all!) of the above. Whether you’re an ultra-organised Virgo, an emotionally driven decorator like Cancer or a curious Aries, we’ve decoded how your zodiac sign dictates your home.
Cancer: Deeply emotional with an interesting core, Cancer signs are sometimes the hardest to get to know — and the same applies to their interiors. A lover of physical expression including art, a Cancer sign will express themselves through bold pieces they have a serious emotional connection to. Plus, as a strong water sign you can bet a Cancer will own (or wish they owned) a pool. Photographed by Brooke Holme
Virgo: Ah, Virgo. It’s a well oiled machine in a Virgo’s home, and they won’t let you forget it. Likely a shoe-free zone, Virgos take pride in their space, which includes an eye for cleanliness, order and sufficient storage. A lover of neutral tones with laid-back touches, Virgos gravitate towards Scandi design and minimalist furniture. Clutter is almost non existent, but if there is any, it comes in the form of a pile — so many piles. Potential cohabiting partners of Virgos beware: this is one sign you need to be willing to compromise with.
Taurus: An extremely physical sign, a Taurus will seek out indoor/outdoor spaces like a bull to a red flag. Choose a home with plenty of space to roam (or a balcony, if living in an apartment) with enough room for a garden. You are hands on and love material things, so gardening and interior decorating are hobbies that come naturally, and will inspire the rest of your interior decor. However, be warned Taurus, your love for objects might go too far if you aren’t careful. Photographed by Mark Seelen
Sagittarius: A traveller who lives to collect, a Sagittarius home is packed with wares from across the globe. Often bohemian or coastal in style, a Sagittarius will gravitate towards natural materials and subdued colours which are made to pop through brightly coloured pillows, blankets and vases picked up from the furthest corners of the globe. Pisces: A gentle water sign, Pisces seek calming spaces that will provide a shelter for their otherwise busy lives. Seeking out cool tones — including soft whites, creams and pastels — Pisces will use objects to add character in their homes. Pops of colour come from art and often handmade objects, which you are vocal about taking pride in. Photographed by Felix Forest
Libra: A social, caring and outdoorsy type of person, Libras will build a house around the functions it serves best — primarily, their social life. A big dining room table, cosy couches and an outdoor entertaining area are all top priorities for Libras. Photographed by Anson Smart
Leo: A fire sign with a passion for colour, a Leo will fill their home with bright objects, furniture and art. You love to be the centre of attention, and your home is no different. Maximalists at heart, a Leo will gravitate towards the finer things in life to fill their home — with no regard for their credit card, because what a Leo loves, a Leo gets. Gemini: Curious by design with an indecisive nature, a Gemini’s home will often have many different styles. Eclectic and intriguing, each room speaks for itself and might reflect a certain period in your life. From minimalist to maximalist, a Gemini has tried it all. Photographed by Kasia Gatkowska
Capricorn: A traditionalist and lover of control, a Capricorn home is beautifully outfitted and often gallery-like with its wares. Craftsmanship is important to you, and collections of beautiful Italian furniture and handmade leather goods can be found throughout these often flagship-esque homes. However, as with Virgo, Capricorns are known for being stubborn, making it hard for a partner to seamlessly blend in with a Capricorn’s forthright decorating style. Photographed by Anson Smart
Aquarius: You might be best associated with the Age of Aquarius, but there’s nothing traditionally bohemian (and yes, we’re looking at you, tie dye) about the interiors an Aquarius keeps. Creativity flows freely in your home, but it’s best shown through a love of art, beautiful objects and unique pieces. Seek out one-of-a-kind finds at markets or design fairs for a home that makes you proud. Photographed by Kasia Gatkowska
Aries: Known for being optimistic, Aries go for bright colours with light-filled spaces. Fitting to the industrial style of furniture and architecture, an Aries will love the flexibility of a heritage building they can play around in. Our tip? Look for houses with plenty of room to move — you’ll try anything, until it annoys you and it’s time for another makeover.
Scorpio: A purveyor of truth and lover of being right, Scorpios will take their forthright attitude into their home and stick with it. Whether their style be 1960s minimalism or velvet couches clad with Gucci printed pillows, a Scorpio’s style is down-pat and always flawlessly executed. Plus, thanks to their famous loyalty, a Scorpio home is often dotted with souvenirs and strange gifts — they would never hurt a friend by throwing out a present, that much is for sure.
