Food prints are a rage this season. Make the best of this delicious fashion trend

Fashion

Food has been a major source of inspiration for many international design houses. In 1937, designer Elsa Schiaparelli showcased a Lobster dress that became quite a rage. Later, many designers such as Stuart Weitzman and Italian luxury fashion house Moschino came out with food-inspired collections. Chanel also launched a limited edition milk carton shaped minaudière which was a hot selling piece. And in Spring Summer 2017, Dolce & Gabbana showcased a pizza-pasta inspired collection.

The trend is becoming popular in India with fashionistas wearing their love for food on their sleeves. Need some delicious inspiration? Check out these looks that combine food and fashion in an appetising mix.

A tangy twist

Model Muskaan Bisaria wears a buttoned-up maxi with tomato and ketchup patchwork. Team the casual and fun maxi with tie-up black heels. Keep makeup restrained: soft smokey eyes and nude lips. A messy braid and gold loop earrings complete the look.

Fizz is what it is

This is perfect to add some effervescence to your life. Model Ashanti Singh wears a faux leather skirt teamed with a fizzy drink printed T-shirt, layered with a faux fur shrug. Soft curls and deep oxblood lips complete her look. You can knot up the tee for a fun, funky spin.

Lassi love

How about a desi twist to your look? Model Ashanti Singh wears a shirt featuring a glass of lassi, paired with blue fringe pants. Soft brown eyes and black heels complete her look.

Patch up fashionably

Model Rose Alisha wears a white spaghetti top paired with denim shorts and a simple stripe shirt, pepped up with fashion patches such as a cocktail glass and cupcake.

Sugar rush

Model Muskaan Bisaria drapes a popsicle printed sari in a dhoti style teamed with a tube top for a summer-perfect look. Loop earrings and a loosely tied side bun give her look a relaxed, casual vibe.
